Join artist Jaedon Shin and Dr Jay Song, Associate Professor of Korean Studies at the University of Melbourne, for an insightful discussion on the history of migration and transnational experience and its impact on visual art practice. Since arriving in Australia in 2007 Jaedon Shin has divided his time between Australia and Korea. This dual identity underpins his creative practice and his . Jay provides her interpretation of Jaedon鈥檚 artwork from Korea鈥檚 contemporary history and political perspectives. She will also share some of her findings on Korean immigrants in Australia, including one who arrived in 1871 and worked as a shearer in Gol Gol, NSW.
